Facts to know about black hole

WHAT IS A BLACK HOLE?

A black hole is a celestial object with a huge mass gathered in small amount of volume. It has a super strong gravitational field that nothing can escape from it. Not even light. It is one of the strangest objects in outer space that grasp everything. More unerringly, a black hole is a region in spacetime with a solid gravitational field.

HISTORY

Karl Schwarzschild is known as the founder of the solution of general relativity that would characterize a black hole. Such objects were first considered in 18th century. In 1916, Albert Einstein first predicted the existence of black hole by his theory of general relativity. Before 1971, black hole was known as only a theoretical object. Some scientists thought that, if nothing can escape from black hole, not even light, it can't be spotted. American theoretical physicist John Archibald Wheeler first came up with the term "Black Hole". He used the term as a replacement of "Gravitationally completely collapsed star".
